Kristin's day-to-day rhythm

Kristin and her family
  1. Hi Kristin! Tell us a little about your life and what makes you you! I have been married 14 years and we are very much in a RHYTHM with two young kids, a dog, and both of us working. My husband is a pilot with a very volatile schedule. I work remote for a wine tech company. We love our life, despite feeling like we are spinning on a hamster wheel at times.
  2. How would you describe yourself when it comes to planning and organizing in your life? I am somewhat of a minimalist and very strategic. If it doesn’t need to be a hardened plan (kids doctor appts, school schedules, sports schedules, physical therapy for my husband, a birthday dinner, etc) I avoid a firm plan. When it’s a firm plan, it goes into our shared Google calendar
  3. Describe your productivity stack or tools you use in your planning process? (apps, paper notebooks, mental lists etc.) I like Google docs for more complex planning. Simple checklists go on paper or in iPhone Notes.
  4. What does a typical week look like for you? Monday through Thursday is pretty rigid with school, work, sports, piano, carpools, prep ahead, and early morning walks/workouts. Friday through Sunday is much more relaxed.
  5. What’s your typical weekday morning routine? What do you do to get ready for your day? Jog/walk the dog from 6:00am-6:45am. Prep breakfast and help kids get ready until 7:30am. Me or my husband take them to school/daycare. At 8:00am my workday begins.
  6. What’s your weeknight schedule like? What sort of activities do you prioritize? Home cooked meal almost every night. Homework with my daughter. Short show for both kids to unwind. Games or reading before bed. We prep lunches for next day.
  7. Do you have a favorite productivity tip, hack, or philosophy? Exercise first thing in the morning clears the mind and starts the day off in an energizing way.
  8. What is your favorite Arrange plan and why? The school schedule! Nothing has even compared before. I love being able to easily access what is happening with minimum days or closures.
  9. If you could dream up any new Arrange plan, what would it be? An intuitive plan that automatically pulls birthdays stored in Google calendar, apple calendar, spreadsheets, etc and sends a notification.
  10. What do you wish you could wave a magic wand and instantly accomplish? What do you wish you could put on autopilot? Grocery shopping!
  11. What are you great at remembering? Anything related to our kids
  12. What’s the last thing you forgot? Definitely a friend’s birthday. My friends/families birthdays are stored in too many places.
