How to be the most prepared guest this wedding season
The most anticipated season of the year is here! Weddings are a time to celebrate love, celebrate with old and new friends, and indulge in a *really* fun time!
But the stress of planning can sometimes overshadow the main event, so Arrange created a plan to make getting to the wedding day a whole lot easier.
Summer and fall are the most popular times to get married. According to The Knotโsย 2021 Real Weddings Study, 80% of all weddings took place between May to October. To be specific, the most popular wedding months are June (13%), August (13%), and October (22%).
Believe it or not, there's so much more to attending a wedding than dressing up and partying the night away. Traditional wedding guest etiquette and toโdos involve a scope of responsibilities, like submitting a response card by the deadline, and preparing your own gift to congratulate the newlyweds.
Follow our ๐ Attending a wedding plan for all our pro suggestions on what you need to do and remember when preparing for a wedding! See below for a summary of the reminders included in the plan.
๐ RSVP for the events you're attending
Make sure you're aware of which events you've been invited to, like the rehearsal or welcome dinner, and which you and your +1 can attend (they might be different!). Even if you're in the wedding party, send back that card or fill out the survey to help the couple stay organized.
๐ Send a wedding gift
You technically have a year after the wedding to send a gift, but being on top of it will mean picking from the best stuff on the registry.

๐ Plan your wedding and reherseal dinner outfits
Double-check the wedding website or invitation to confirm the formality and themes for each event, not just the reception. Hating everything in your closet? Rent the Runway offers 3 or 5-day rentals on semi-formal or formal attire, plus accessories: https://link.joinarrange.com/renttherunway
๐ Schedule child, pet, or house sitters while you're at the wedding
Save yourself a headache by getting on your sitter's calendar ahead of time. Here are 4 apps to find a last-minute sitter: https://link.joinarrange.com/sitterhelp
๐ Plan activities with other guests
If you're not in the wedding party, you may have some free time on the day of the wedding. Research what the local area has to offer and snag tickets or reservations ahead of time.
๐ Schedule beauty appointments so you look your best at the wedding
There's nothing worse than a great outfit with chipped nail polish. Decide if you want to set your appointments before or after you travel to the wedding location.
Arrange pro tip: using at-home options like Ohora for nails can save you time and money: https://link.joinarrange.com/weddingnails
๐ Drop off dry cleaning 2 weeks before the wedding
If there's a chance you'll need anything altered too, make sure to try it on at home first before you drop it off. Make sure you do this about a month out from the wedding in case thereโs a longer turnaround time at the tailor or dry cleaner.
๐ย Pick up last-minute travel items depending on the wedding destination
Be the hero at the wedding with extra sunscreen and electrolyte powder. Here's a great destination wedding packing list thatโs sure to make you the wedding guest MVP: https://link.joinarrange.com/weddingpackinglist
๐ Don't orget to pick up dry cleaning
If you can't make it during working hours M-F, be sure to pick it up on Saturday, as many dry cleaners aren't open on Sundays.
๐ Check the weather & pack necessary travel docs or passports
Double-check if you'll need to throw a coat or an umbrella in your suitcase. Other countries require different vaccinations and COVID tests. Check with your airline before travel.

At the end of the day, preparing for a wedding is something we recommend doing a few months before. The newlyweds have spent months (for some, years) preparing for their wedding day, and you donโt want to miss out on any of the celebrations or congratulations!
